Surprise Arrival: Assassin's Creed Mirage Release Date Moved Up

In an unusual update from the gaming sector, Ubisoft has revealed that Assassin's Creed Mirage is set to launch a week ahead of its originally scheduled release date. The game was initially scheduled for October 12, but the game will now start on October 5. Publisher Ubisoft announced and confirmed on social media that the game has reached "Gold Gold" status, indicating its completion and readiness for production. This milestone signifies that the final version of the title, which will soon be engraved on the disc, has been achieved.

The strategically placed extra episode gives Assassin's Creed Mirage an opportunity to distance itself from its competitors and garner attention through cross-over appeal. These competitors include Alan Wake 2, releasing on October 17th, and Marvel's highly anticipated Spider-Man 2 for PlayStation 5, which is due for release on October 20th.

Navigating Assassin's Creed Mirage: Anticipated features unveiled

Assassin's Creed Mirage emerges against the backdrop of Baghdad, adding another spectacular city to the series' diverse settings. Returning to the franchise's roots, this installment shares its essence with its predecessors, just like the way Assassin's Creed Syndicate brought London to life in 2015.

The early previews for Mirage clearly indicate a return to core elements of the franchise. There is once again a focus on classic-style assassinations, parkour-infused movement, and a more intimate atmosphere. It marks a departure from the vast open-world experiences that defined Assassin's Creed: Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla.

Created by Ubisoft's Bordeaux studio, Mirage has been in development since 2017. Although the studio has previously contributed DLC for Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and played a role in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint's online arena, this marks the first time the Bordeaux team has taken center stage as lead developer of an Assassin's Creed title. is on

Distinguished by its more compact scope, the Mirage also offers a wallet-friendly price point. The PC version can be pre-ordered directly from Ubisoft for £44.99, and savvy online searches have found it for less than £30. Meanwhile, the PS5 version is available for less than £40.

According to Ubisoft's insight shared in a 2022 interview with IGN, Mirage is designed to offer a similar gameplay experience to earlier titles in the series, with a playtime of around 15-20 hours. In stark contrast to the detailed journeys of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which can take players 60 hours or more to complete. A remarkable contrast indeed.

Assassin's Creed Mirage ushers in a refreshing change and will cater to a wider audience, making its debut on Xbox Series S and X, PlayStation 4 and 5 and PC platforms.
